A few weeks on fire

These images are already gone. At least for this year. We've had a week of heavy rains, complete with turbulent wind, and surprisingly even a couple nights of thunder and lightening of the sort which the mid-West is famous for. Now these glorious flames are extinguished, and line the gutters and sidewalks.
Still, for a few weeks early mornings outside my workplace in Lacey, were like a raging pagan bonfire.

What I see in Nature is a magnificent structure that we can comprehend only very imperfectly, and that must fill a thinking person with a feeling of humility. This is a genuinely religious feeling that has nothing to do with mysticism.-Albert Einstein
