Old School Radio into New School Media PC

Old School Radio into New School Media PC

This is a project similar to something I have been dreaming about. The Modder here used a 1946 bakelite radio, and I've been thinking about a 30's wooden radio cabinet or phone with the split ear and mouth pieces, but the aesthetic is very similar. If you are at intrigued by the possibilities of this, you should read his whole 8 page article. There are a lot of references and links to resources, as well as insight into descions made as the project progressed. And really something like this would not be that hard. If you can install RAM or a new drive, and operate a Dremmel you could probably tackle something like this over the course of a couple weekends. Sure beats biege or black powder coated metal.

Sometimes you just wake up and realize, this is what I want to build. Well so far so good, next step as always is to scribble it down on paper for later review when you are fully awake. The idea I had on paper was for a home entertainment PC, it should have a retro look, or even better, a futuristic look viewed by a person living in the 1940's.
