Steampunk Digital Camera


bOINGbOING just posted this "locket camera" with the critique that it is Flava Flav big. Yeah, it sure is, but this photo from designer Lindsey Pickett's portfolio site, shows how the design can be quite practical.
Granted the 1881 concept design is shown in other pictures on her site as a pendant style locket, and it does seem a tad unwieldy for that use. Though it is cool, that it opens up locket style to reveal the lcd screen(s). This is the part of a digital camera I am always most worried about damaging, and the chain would prevent loss, which can be real downside to the convenience of a pocketable camera.
Now if this thing would actually get produced...
